Ancestry.com is a website to build a family tree. Although you need to create a profile there to use all its tools, the service allow you to start a family tree without an account and for free. There appears a box containing the "Your First Name" and "Your Last Name" spaces. Once you filled them you are now in your family tree. Then, just click the button that says "Start my tree" and it's displayed a bigger screen containing spaces for father, mother, grandfathers and more.
With an account, which is free, you can save your family tree and share it with your friends via email, Twitter, and any other way you know.
The site works as a large family history collection. That's thanks to the lots of users that have their trees there. So you can use its searcher and find other's family trees. You can even find a person that has not created a tree but he or she is part of the one of other person.
